First up on Tuesday are the women's slalom and the men's giant slalom. Swiss skier Marco Odermatt currently leads the standings with a 48-point advantage over Brazilian Lucas Pinheiro Braathen, which would secure his fourth crystal globe of the season after his victories in the overall standings, downhill, and Super-G.
The World Cup winter concludes on Wednesday with the men's slalom, in which Norway's Atle Lie McGrath needs to defend his 41-point lead over Braathen to claim the crystal globe. In the women's giant slalom, Austria's Julia Scheib has already secured the globe, as has Shiffrin in the slalom.
Aicher vs. Shiffrin
Emma Aicher aims to keep her hopes alive for her first overall World Cup title in the penultimate race of the season. The 22-year-old trails American Mikaela Shiffrin by 45 points going into Tuesday's slalom. Slalom Olympic champion Shiffrin starts as the favorite, having won eight out of nine World Cup slaloms this season. Aicher would be the first German overall Alpine World Cup winner since Maria Riesch in 2011. From a South Tyrolean perspective, only Anna Trocker and Alex Vinatzer will be competing in the technical finals. Both will be running the giant slalom and the slalom. Trocker qualified as a two-time Junior World Champion.
