“One more”: Ski star happy as a father

Linus Straßer has been one of the world's best slalom skiers for years. Now the skier has become a father for the second time.

German slalom star Linus Straßer has given birth to a son. The 32-year-old announced the happy news on his Instagram profile: "One more," the Munich native wrote, without revealing the newborn's name.

Straßer and his wife Maria, with whom he tied the knot in traditional costume in the summer of 2022, are overjoyed. Their daughter Marta was born in December. Just a few days after the birth, Straßer raced to the podium at the prestigious night slalom in Madonna di Campiglio, securing third place. Immediately after the race, he headed home to rejoin his young family.

With a total of five World Cup victories, including sensational successes at the Hahnenkamm Slalom in Kitzbühel and the Night Race in Schladming in January 2024, he is one of the best German slalom skiers ever. He won silver in the team event at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing; he also won bronze in the team event at the 2021 World Championships in Cortina and his first individual World Championship medal (bronze) at the 2025 World Championships in Saalbach-Hinterglemm.
