“He’s here”: A baby enchants the ski dream couple

It's often said that the skiing world is one big family. And this family has now gained a celebrity baby.

Beautiful ski runs, idyllic sunsets by the sea, hikes in the California mountains – yes, the baby of former ski stars Marie-Michèle Gagnon and Travis Ganong has already experienced quite a bit in the past few weeks. And that's even though she hasn't even been born yet!

Ski queen Marie-Michèle Gagnon recently documented on Instagram exactly how adventurous she was enjoying her pregnancy – and her baby bump kept getting bigger. Now the time has come: On July 16, little Felix Ganong was born. The famous ski couple announced the news on Instagram.

"And just like that, he's there," the couple wrote on the social network, adding: "The love is real." The American and the Canadian experienced arguably the greatest highlight of their lives – even their successes on the ski slopes can't compare. Travis Ganong was once vice world champion in the downhill, and Marie-Michèle Gagnon raced to the podium five times in 273 World Cup races, twice taking first place.

The two were hugely popular figures in the ski world for years until they retired together in the spring of 2023. Retirement isn't the right word, though. In the first few months of their "retirement," Gagnon and Ganong explored the world, tied the knot a year ago, and are now proud parents. One thing is certain: Little Felix is blessed with plenty of skiing genes. And from now on, he'll be able to experience with his own eyes the adventures he's only enjoyed in his mother's tummy.
