It's a simple photo in an Instagram story that has caused a stir in the ski scene in recent days. The picture shows a young lady snuggling up close to her boyfriend. You can tell that the two are completely in love.

Why did the photo make it into the media? It's because it features two well-known ski athletes. AJ Ginnis, Greek slalom vice-world champion, and Austrian ski crosser Christina Födermayr are a couple.

Ginnis is considered an exotic figure in the skiing scene, who amazed everyone - but really everyone - at the 2023 World Championships. At the time, the Greek, who also has a US passport, sensationally raced to slalom silver. Last season did not go as planned for the 29-year-old, as he never really got going due to knee problems.

Who is Ginnis' new girlfriend?

His new sweetheart Christina Födermayr also experienced a rollercoaster of emotions in the Ski Cross World Cup. Last December, the 23-year-old took a podium place for the first time, but then suffered a partial rupture of the posterior cruciate ligament and subsequently had to undergo hip surgery. But things have sparked in their private lives: Fördermayr and Ginnis are the new dream couple of the ski scene.
