While the Ski World Cup's big speed final took place in Kvitfjell, Norway, last week, South Tyrol hosted the Raiffeisen Grand Prix regional championships for the U14 and U16 age groups in Watles and Schöneben. Additionally, the Raiffeisen Team Cup was held in Jochgrimm. As usual, here's an overview of the alpine skiing results.

The Raiffeisen Grand Prix regional championships took place last weekend with a triple event in the Watles and Schöneben ski resorts, organized by the ASV Prad Raiffeisen and ASV Vinschger Oberland clubs. On Friday, the U16 age group competed in the Super-G. Amy Happacher of the 3 Zinnen Dolomites club took the victory in the women's race. With a time of 56,03 seconds, she relegated Carmen Gschliesser (RG Wipptal / 56,47 seconds) and Francesca Miribung (SC Gröden / 56,80 seconds) to second and third place, respectively. The U16 boys' regional champion is Simon Kaser. The Seiser Alm Ski Team athlete won the Super-G in 54,33 seconds, ahead of Michael Thaler (ASC Sarntal / 55,63 seconds) and Daniel Jud (Kronplatz Ski Team / 55,97 seconds).
The first day featured the state championships in giant slalom for the U14 age group. Julia Trocker from the Seiser Alm Ski Team was crowned the new state champion, completing the two runs in 1:35.91 minutes. Mia Molling (ASV TZ Jochtal) finished second in 1:35.94 minutes, just three hundredths of a second behind, while Mia Oberjakober from the Kronplatz Ski Team took third place (1:38.08 minutes). The U14 boys' title went to Robin Kelder from SC Gröden with a time of 1:36.33 minutes. Second place was secured by Elias Magoni from RG Wipptal (1:36.45 minutes), and third place by Elias Rudiferia (Skiteam Altabadia), who completed the two runs in 1:36.92 minutes.
U16 slalom and U14 super-G on Saturday
On Saturday, the U16 slalom race took place, and Amy Happacher (3 Zinnen Dolomites) secured her second title. She completed the two runs in 1:24.38 minutes, winning by almost three seconds ahead of Letizia Wenter Heiss (ASC Sarntal / 1:27.36 minutes) and third-placed Ida Gatterer (Kronplatz Skiteam / 1:27.43 minutes). In the men's race, Mattia Vinatzer triumphed. The skier from SC Gröden won in 1:24.22 minutes, ahead of Hannes Valentini from Skiteam Altabadia (1:25.19 minutes) and Juri Gufler from Skiteam Passeiertal (1:25.81 minutes).The second day of competition continued for the U14 age group with the Super-G. In the women's race, Sofia Lanz (ASV TZ Jochtal) took first place with a time of 58,86 seconds, ahead of her teammate Mia Molling (ASV TZ Jochtal / 59,60 seconds) and Julia Plunger from the Seiser Alm Ski Team (59,82 seconds). In the U14 men's race, two athletes from SC Gröden shared the victory: René Auer and Robin Kelder, who also secured his second regional championship title, both finished the Super-G in a tie at 59,04 seconds, thus winning jointly. Aron Lanpacher from ASV Tscherms finished third (59,61 seconds).
Only the U14 slalom on Sunday
On Sunday, the organizers from ASV Prad Raiffeisen were hampered by bad weather, forcing them to reluctantly cancel the U16 giant slalom. It is expected to be rescheduled for a later date. The U14 slalom, however, went ahead as planned. Sofia Lanz of ASV TZ Jochtal secured her second state championship title of the weekend in the women's race. She won in 1:34.80 minutes, ahead of Julia Plunger (Seiser Alm Skiteam / 1:36.25 minutes) and Eva Sagmeister (Vinschger Oberland / 1:37.55 minutes). The winner of the U14 men's race was Elia Raffeiner of Riffian Kuens, who completed the slalom runs in 1:35.63 minutes. Leo Giubbilei (Ritten Sport / 1:35.70 minutes) and Lukas Plank (RG Wipptal / 1:36.81 minutes) finished in second and third place respectively.Last Tuesday, the Raiffeisen Grand Prix U16 "Super-G veloce" race in Reinswald, originally scheduled for the previous day, was finally held. In the races, which counted towards the Raiffeisen Landescup standings, Ida Gatterer (Kronplatz Ski Team) took first place in the women's category, ahead of Lea Putzer (SC Gröden) and Denise Demetz (SC Gröden). In the boys' category, Simon Kaser (Seiser Alm Ski Team) won, followed by Michael Thaler (ASC Sarntal) and Elias Obojes (Kronplatz Ski Team).
The very young ones in Jochgrimm
On Saturday, the second stage of the Raiffeisen Team Cup, organized by ASV Eppan Ski, took place on the Schwarzhorn slope in the Jochgrimm ski area. Over 200 young ski racers in the U9 to U12 age groups competed, providing fantastic entertainment. The following were the winners in their respective categories.U9: Hannah Rainer (ASV Ridnaun) and Leo Brunner (ASC Passeier)
U10: Leni Ohnewein (ASV Eppan Ski) and Fynn Breitenberger (SC Ulten)
U11: Lilou Perathoner (SC Gröden) and Felix Brunner (ASC Passeier)
U12: Emily Gschitzer (ASV Ridnaun) and Hannes Riegler (ASV Eppan Ski)
The women's regional team competed in two slalom races of the Gran Premio d'Italia series in Pampeago on Monday and Tuesday. In the first race, Nora Pernstich from Aldein finished second in the senior category behind Maria Sole Antonini, thus winning the U21 category. Arianna Putzer (SC Gröden) won the U18 category. In the second slalom, Antonini again won the senior category, this time ahead of Victoria Klotz (Bozen) and Pernstich.
The men's regional team competed at the Gran Premio d'Italia in Pejo. While top results eluded them in the Super-G, Jakob Franzelin (Montan) took first place in the U21 age group in the first giant slalom. In the second race, Franzelin finished second behind Lorenzo Gerosa, with regional team athlete Max Clara (St. Vigil in Enneberg) taking third.
