Speed talent seriously injured again

Last winter, Lisa Grill returned to the competition stage almost three years after her horrific injury. After being slowed down by an injury last season, the Austrian now has more bad news.

Ski racer Lisa Grill continues to suffer from bad luck with injuries. The 24-year-old from Salzburg suffered a broken tibia and fibula in her left leg during training in St. Michael im Lungau on Friday. According to the association, this means a break of six to eight months.

The three-time Junior World Championship medalist from 2020 suffered ligament and capsule injuries in her right knee as well as a bone bruise in a training fall in Orcieres Merlette, France, at the beginning of 2024. The result was a 12-week injury break and an early end to the season.

Almost 1000 days injured

In February 2021, she suffered a fracture of the tibia and fibula in her right leg. The subsequent healing process required eight operations and kept her out of action for almost 1.000 days before her return to racing.

Grill underwent surgery on Friday at AUVA in Graz. Since her World Cup debut at the beginning of 2020, she has only been able to compete in seven races. Most recently, she attracted attention again in the European Cup and finished 28th in the Super-G in St. Moritz last weekend.
