Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen cancelled

After the World Cup Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen was initially postponed, it is now certain: the race cannot be held due to bad weather.

The Super-G in Garmisch-Partenkirchen has been cancelled: Organizers announced this at midday on Sunday. The speed race was originally scheduled to start at 11:15 a.m., but was postponed to 12:45 p.m. due to dense fog that prevented fair competition. Just under half an hour before the start, the organizers officially cancelled the Super-G.

The speed specialists won't be back in action for another two weeks, when a downhill (March 14) and a Super-G (March 15) are scheduled in Courchevel, France. This coming weekend, it's the turn of the technical specialists: a giant slalom (March 7) and a slalom (March 8) will be held in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
