It is traditionally difficult to determine the favorite in Val Gardena, especially when a real specialist such as Aleksander Aamodt Kilde is missing. That is why Vincent Kriechmayr (AUT) is the only starter who has already won a Super-G on the Saslong (2023 and 2019).
The Austrian will be wearing number 15 on Friday, making him the last of the so-called top group (start numbers between 6 and 15). This group also includes two Azzurri, including last year's downhill winner Dominik Paris. The Ultner has number 14, and Mattia Casse (he was strong in the downhill training) will be starting the race with number 10.

Two other South Tyroleans are at the start: Christof Innerhofer, Florian Schieder and local hero Max Perathoner (he is the first Val Gardena native to take part in the Saslong since 1999). Innerhofer will be number 38. Local fans will have to wait until number 60 for Perathoner. Two starters earlier it is Schieder's turn (58).Super-G in Val Gardena: The most important start numbers
