Tempting task: Manfred Mölgg's new ski job

For around 20 years, Manfred Mölgg was a fixture in the premier class of skiing, the World Cup. The man from Enneberg was not only considered a gifted and successful technician, but also a popular figure. “Manni” was loved by everyone, and his farewell in March 2022 was correspondingly emotional.

More than a year has passed since then. A year in which Mölgg was able to sort out his thoughts and plan his future. He got a taste of coaching with the state squad, was a forerunner in the women's giant slalom at Kronplatz and also took part in various events. But now the 40-year-old has found a job for the future: he will be “Racing Sport Manager” at the Tecnica Group. This is the group of companies that includes the ski brands Nordica and Blizzard as well as the ski boot brand Tecnica and whose big figurehead is Dominik Paris.

A diverse field of tasks “It’s a big challenge,” says Mölgg looking forward SportNews -Demand. “My field of activity is diverse. I am responsible for our athletes who are competing in the World and European Cups, so I have to make sure that they have the best possible conditions and that the material, service and ski men are suitable. Scouting is also an important task because I have to look to acquire new talent. “I’ll be there a lot at the races in winter,” said the Gadertal native.

Mölgg worked very closely with Jörg Ruedl, who is responsible for product development and marketing as Racing Business Manager. Together they should continue to take their brand up until the 2026 Olympic Games. “The signing of Manfred Mölgg is a new beginning for us,” says Alberto Zanatta, President of the Tecnica Group. “With his experience and professionalism, we want to experience moments like those we had a few years ago with Franz Klemm, Mario Matt, Kjetil André Aamodt and Dominik Paris.”

Paris and Colturi are the flagships Nordica (or Tecnica and Blizzard) is considered a niche brand in the ski circus. Big players are others, such as Head or Atomic. Nevertheless, there are regular prestigious successes, for which Nordica pilot Dominik Paris has been particularly responsible in the recent past. With Lara Colturi (Blizzard), the ski company has a currently injured super talent in its ranks, and Andreja Slokar (Nordica, she won two World Cup races) is also a woman for the future. An exciting task awaits Manfred Mölgg.
