Thankfully, I'll finally be able to travel back to the USA," Vonn announced on Instagram. She added that she would provide further updates on her injury once she returned. She will also require another surgery in the USA.

Vonn: "The love for skiing remains."

She defended her decision to race once again. "I was prepared to take risks, give it my all, and make sacrifices for something I knew I could achieve. I'd rather risk a crash than not reach my full potential and regret it later," Vonn explained.

“And quite honestly, physically I was stronger in that moment than I often have been before. Definitely stronger than at the end of my career in 2019, when I won the bronze medal at the World Championships,” she added. Mentally, she was better prepared “than ever before.” “The love for skiing remains. I still look forward to the moment when I can stand on the top of a mountain once again. And I will,” Vonn declared defiantly.
