Vonn crashes in Cortina, Azzurre set the tone

Before the home races in Cortina d'Ampezzo, the Azzurre showed their best side in training. On Thursday, half of the top 10 were wearing the FISI logo on their ski suits. Lindsey Vonn, meanwhile, fell.

3 Azzurre were the fastest, with 2 more in the top 10. That's the result of Thursday's training in Cortina d'Ampezzo. Federica Brignone seems to have finally got a taste for it after her first downhill victory a week ago in St. Moritz and set the best time.

Sofia Goggia (+0,05 seconds) was just behind in second place. Third place on Thursday went to Nadia Delago (+2) from Val Gardena. Two other Italians, Elena Curtoni (0,65th/+9) and Marta Bassino (1,17th/+10), made it into the top 1,18.

The rankings of the other Azzurre: 22. Roberta Melesi (+1,97), 23. Nadia Delago (+1,99), 27. Laura Pirovano (+2,16), 39. Vicky Bernardi (+3,73), 42. Sara Thaler (+4,01).

fall of Lindsey Vonn

Lindsey Vonn did not make it to the finish line on Thursday. The American, who has celebrated a brilliant comeback in recent weeks, crashed in the last section of the course. Vonn was probably not too badly affected, however, as the 40-year-old was able to cross the finish line herself before heading to the medical tent.
