The ski season is drawing to a close: On Saturday (from 10:45 am/SportNews(Live ticker) The final men's downhill race of the season is taking place in Kvitfjell. The dress rehearsal was held on Friday, during which Florian Schieder showed strong form.
The skier from Kastelruth finished the final downhill training run of the winter in fourth place, putting himself in a strong position. The fastest time on Friday was achieved by Frenchman Nils Allegre, who finished ahead of Vincent Kriechmayr (Austria, +0,07 seconds) and Alexis Monney (Switzerland, +0,34 seconds). Schieder was 0,51 seconds behind. "I made a mistake at the top today, but all in all I feel comfortable here," said the skier from Kastelruth.

Dominik Paris (Ulten/+1,16) finished the training run in 10th place. “The snow isn’t perfect, but you can ski, that’s the most important thing. This slope has given me a lot, but it’s also taken something away from me at times. You have to attack full throttle from start to finish,” explained the skier from Ulten, who has won in Kvitfjell an impressive six times.
Christof Innerhofer (Gais/+2,83) finished 24th in training. Italy's rising star Giovanni Franzoni, in sixth place (+0,63), has a good feeling on the Kvitfjell Olympic hill.
There will be no showdown on Saturday, as the decision regarding the win of the small crystal globe has already been made: Marco Odermatt has already secured the victory in the discipline standings.
