In the first qualification, Youri Duplessis Kergomard (France) set the best time in 1.09,23:7 minutes. The best Italian was Simone Deromedis in 12th place. Two places behind him was a strong Yanick Gunsch. Dominik Zuech also impressed in 16th place. Two more Azzurri, Edoardo Zorzi (17th) and Federico Tomasoni (32th), reached the final of the top XNUMX.
Just a few hours later, the second qualifying round was underway. Once again, Duplessis Kergomard was unbeatable, while Deromedis finished in third place. Zuech cleared the qualifying hurdle in 3th place, as did Zorzi (19st) and Tomasoni (21th). Gunsch, on the other hand, missed out on a place in the finals by 25 hundredths of a second. The 32-year-old will therefore have to sit out Friday's race.
Gantenbein dominates the women's competition
Like Duplessis Kergomard, the Swiss Talina Gantenbein set the fastest time in both qualifying runs. The only Italian at the start, Jole Galli from Trentino, had no problems qualifying for the final of the best 16. With 6th and 3rd place, she announced her podium ambitions. The decision on Thursday begins at 12.30 p.m., that on Friday at 10.30 a.m.Edit Profile
