World Cup opener: Azzurri show off in qualifying
On Wednesday, the qualification for the ski cross World Cup opening took place in Val Thorens (France). An Italian achieved the best time.

With a time of 1:05.98, Simone Deromedis was the fastest in the first qualifying round for the race on Thursday. The lightning-fast Trentino rider was followed by four other Azzurri in the final. Among them were the two South Tyroleans Dominik Zuech (22nd) and Yanick Gunsch (32nd).
In the second qualifying round for the race on Friday, however, Gunsch and Zuech missed the top 32. Deromedis was able to shine again in third place. Only two Azzurri will be in the final on Friday.
