Zuech is down by a hundredth of a point.

In the second qualifying round for the Skicross World Cup in Kopaonik (Serbia), only Yanick Gunsch, the sole South Tyrolean, managed to reach the round of 16.

The ski cross racer from Matsch finished in 29th place on Thursday. Dominik Zuech from Lana, who finished ninth at the Olympics, failed to advance, finishing 36th, just as he had the previous day. He missed qualifying for the knockout round by 0,03 seconds. Federico Tomasoni, the silver medalist from Livigno, also failed to advance, finishing 38th.

Besides Gunsch, Olympic champion Simone Deromedis (21st place) is the only other Italian to reach the knockout stage. Reece Howden from Canada was the fastest qualifier.

The round of 16 races continue on Friday at 12 noon and on Saturday (from 10:15 am).
