Baby joy for ski jumping star: "Come home"

From a sporting perspective, Dawid Kubacki had to endure many setbacks last season. But now the Pole is on cloud nine in his personal life.

As ski jumping star and his wife Marta joyfully announced on social media, their third child, Mikolaj, has been born. "Little treasure. You arrived much early, but you are strong and healthy – that's the most important thing," the couple wrote. "Grow up healthy and gather strength so you can come home as soon as possible, because your sisters are already waiting impatiently for you."

The couple is now looking forward to happy moments together, after having also experienced anxious times in the past. In March 2023, Kubacki's wife was hospitalized with serious heart problems and was fighting for her life. Fortunately, she survived and now lives with a pacemaker.

Highly decorated athlete

From a sporting perspective, the 36-year-old has certainly seen better days. He failed to finish in the top 10 in any individual competition last season. He wasn't selected for the Olympic Games – despite being one of the most successful ski jumpers of our time.

Kubacki has climbed onto a World Cup podium 38 times in his career in the individual competition, standing on the top step eleven times. He is a world champion in both individual and team events and has two bronze medals from the Winter Olympics in his trophy cabinet. Motivated by the birth of his son Mikolaj, he aims to return to his former strength next winter.
