Insam & Co. disappoint in Wisla

For the Azzurri ski jumping team, the qualification in Wisla ended in bitter disappointment. Not a single ski jumper made it into the main field of the best 50.

Alex Insam (52nd) was one point short of qualifying. That's not much, but on the other hand, the Val Gardena jumper is one of only nine jumpers who didn't qualify for the top 9. Insam's poor posture marks were his downfall. A distance of 50 meters would have been fine.

Another is Francesco Cecon, the second Azzurro in Wisla. In contrast to Insam, Cecon did not fly far enough (112,0 meters) and did not receive good marks. Cecon finished the qualification in 55th place.

The best in qualifying was the Austrian Daniel Tschofenig, ahead of Gregor Deschwanden (SUI) and Pius Paschke (GER). The highest distance of the day of 130,0 meters was shared by Piotr Zyla (POL) and the 18-year-old Swiss Felix Trunz.
