Kraft takes World Cup victory number 40

World champion Stefan Kraft flew to his 40th World Cup victory in ski flying in Oberstdorf. It was Salzburg's tenth win of the season.

One day after his third place in Germany, Stefan Kraft impressed with flights at 224 and 217 meters and celebrated his tenth win of the season. In the overall World Cup, the 30-year-old extended his lead to 269 points over the Japanese Ryoyu Kobayashi, who had to settle for third place after leading at halftime. The Slovenian Peter Prevc came second.


Manuel Fettner (218/229,5) came fifth behind the Slovenian Saturday winner Timi Zajc and directly in front of Daniel Huber, who impressed in the qualification with 240 meters. Local hero Andreas Wellinger took seventh place. The best Azzurro was Alex Insam (203,5 and 208,5), who came in 20th.

Next week the ski jumpers will be heading to the World Cup competitions in Scandinavia. First there are three jumps on the program from Friday, including a team competition, in Lahti/Finland, followed by the Raw Air in Norway (Oslo, Trondheim, ski flying in Vikersund).
