Kvandal wins ski flying in Vikersund

Annika Sieff from Trentino missed out on the final at the Ski Flying World Cup in Vikersund (HS 240). The victory remained in Norway.

Sieff, who finished 16th after the first round, did not qualify for the final, as only the top 15 advance to the second round in ski flying. The Italian, who failed to break the magical 200-meter mark with a jump of 197,5 meters, therefore remained in 16th place.

The victory in Norway went to local favorite Eirin Maria Kvandal, who relegated Frida Westman of Sweden to second place. World Cup overall winner Nika Prevc finished third. The Slovenian had led after the first round but then botched her landing in the final. A second women's competition is scheduled for Sunday at Vikersundbakken near Oslo.
