At just 20 years old: Nika Prevc is making history

Ski jumper Nika Prevc won the overall World Cup for the third time in a row in Lahti, Finland.

Slovenia secured the overall World Cup title early with her 37th victory, making her only the third person in the entire ski jumping circuit to achieve this, after Maren Lundby (Norway) and Adam Malysz (Men's) of Poland.

The 20-year-old jumped 124,5 and 128,5 meters on the large hill. With her 17th victory of the season, Prevc had a 14,2-point lead over two-time Olympic champion Anna Odine Stroem of Norway (121,5/123 meters). Japan's Nozomi Maruyama took third place (102,5/123,5 meters).

The best Italian was Annike Sieff from Predazzo, who finished in 21st place. No athletes from South Tyrol are competing in Lahti. The competition continues there on Friday with another women's event, followed by the men's event in the late afternoon.
