The Slovenian ski jumper prevailed on Monday in freezing temperatures with a jump of 140 meters, clearly ahead of Stephan Embacher, Jan Hörl, and Daniel Tschofenig. Behind the Austrian trio came former Four Hills Tournament winner Ryoyu Kobayashi from Japan and Germany's Philipp Raimund.
Innsbruck winner Ren Nikaido finished eighth in front of 4.250 spectators. Prevc, who triumphed in Oberstdorf and Garmisch, goes into the Epiphany jump (4:30 p.m.) with a lead of more than 40 points over Hörl and Embacher.
Insam is also there.
Alex Insam also had reason to celebrate on Monday. The Val Gardena native jumped 120,5 meters and qualified comfortably for Tuesday's final, finishing 37th among the top 50. Giovanni Bresadola (43rd) will also be among the Italian competitors. Val Gardena's young talent, Maximilian Gartner, missed out on qualifying for the final in his second World Cup competition.Edit Profile
