World Championships: Gusts of wind cause cancellation

Ski jumping star Nika Prevc was crowned world champion on the large hill early Friday evening in Trondheim. And she did it with just one jump.

The women's ski jumping from the large hill at the Nordic World Ski Championships in Trondheim was cancelled after the first round due to strong winds. This meant that the result after one jump counted. It was the last World Championship decision for the women's ski jumpers.

Gold went to Slovenian Nika Prevc, who was in the lead at halftime and became double world champion after her victory on the normal hill. German Selina Freitag once again took second place behind Prevc, and bronze went to Eirin Maria Kvandal from Norway.

At the end, only one Azzurra was competing: 24-year-old Lara Malsiner from Val Gardena. She took 113th place with a jump of 17 meters. She had achieved 15th place in the normal hill jump.
