German star snowboarder is pregnant
Snowboard star Ramona Hofmeister is expecting a baby. The 30-year-old announced the news in an Instagram post.

In one photo, Hofmeister is seen with a baby bump, on which her German Shepherd, Chili, is lying. In another photo with the dog, Hofmeister and her partner hold two ultrasound images up to the camera. She captioned the photo, "Our little winter wonder is on the way."
Hofmeister is the most successful German snowboarder of recent years. In 2018 in Pyeongchang, she won Olympic bronze in the parallel giant slalom. What impact the pregnancy will have on her career remains to be seen. The exceptional snowboarder did not address this in her Instagram post.
Last winter, Hofmeister's participation in the Olympic Games in Italy was in doubt after she suffered a fractured ankle. The Bavarian athlete fought her way back, but was eliminated in the quarterfinals, thus missing out on the hoped-for medal.
