There's little to gain for a visitor in China

For Omar Visintin, the snowboard cross racer from Algund, there was little to be gained at the World Cup in Dongbeiya, China, on Saturday.

After easily qualifying for the quarterfinals in tenth place on Friday, Visintin's run ended there. The 36-year-old finished fourth and last, despite leading and being second after the first two split times, putting him on track for the semifinals. Ultimately, this meant 25th place for the Algund native.

The victory went to Austrian Jakob Dusek, who prevailed in the final ahead of Canadian Eliot Grondin and Australian Adam Lambert. For the 29-year-old, it is his fifth World Cup win, his first this season. Lorenzo Sommariva was the only Italian to reach the semifinals and finished the World Cup race in fifth place.

In the women's competition, Great Britain's Charlotte Bankes triumphed over Australia's Josie Baff and France's Chloe Trespeuch. Italy's Michela Moioli narrowly missed the podium, finishing fourth in the final.
