Gold for Tommy Rabanser! The 18-year-old from Val Gardena, Santa Cristina, was the fastest in the parallel slalom at the Junior World Championships in Folgaria on Sunday. This brings a strong World Championships to a close for Rabanser, who had already won the bronze medal in the parallel giant slalom.

In Sunday's final, Rabanser prevailed against American Walker Overstake, who took silver. Bronze went to Russian Ilia Khurtin. Rabanser's semifinal opponent, Krystof Minarik of the Czech Republic, had to settle for fourth place. Manuel Haller and Tobias Mutschlecher were eliminated in the quarterfinals – with Mutschlechner losing to Rabanser.

Mammone goes away empty-handed

The World Championships ended bitterly for Anna Mammone. The athlete from Welschnofen was on her way to a medal, but was defeated in the semi-finals by eventual silver medalist Mariia Travinicheva (RUS). Mammone also came up short in the bronze medal match. The South Tyrolean lost to Zoe Jansing from Germany and finished the World Championships in fourth place.
