Super talent Tommy Rabanser is the best in the European Cup

Overall victory! South Tyrol's bright future in alpine snowboarding achieved the greatest success of his still young career in the European Cup on Saturday.

At the finale of the world's second-highest race series in Davos, Tommy Rabanser snatched the overall victory. A third-place finish in the parallel slalom was enough to seal his victory, even before the concluding parallel giant slalom on Sunday.

Rabanser initially held his own in the quarterfinals against Mike Santuari from Nova Levante, who ultimately finished sixth. Although the favorite was defeated by Bulgarian Kristian Georgiev in the semifinals, a win in the "small final" against Austrian Julian Teffler was enough for the 17-year-old from Val Gardena to climb onto the podium and secure first place in the overall ranking. Just at the beginning of the month, Rabanser had two silver medals at the Junior World Championships make you sit up and take notice.

In the women's parallel slalom, Tommy Rabanser's older sister Sophie was the best Azzurra, finishing 13th. Like her teammates, she was eliminated in the round of XNUMX. Swiss Xenia Von Siebenthal celebrated a home victory in Davos.
