It was a sad farewell that Daniel Huber announced in the last days of December 2025. The star ski jumper from Austria, whose career was often plagued by injuries and who sometimes had to sit out an entire season, drew a line under it.
The 33-year-old cited his family as one of the reasons for his decision. "My focus has shifted more towards family and new challenges," said Huber, who has enjoyed great success in his career. He won team gold at the 2022 Olympic Games with Austria and also took home the Ski Flying Crystal Globe in 2024.

Huber's retirement has now been sweetened: his second child was born a few days ago. Little Rosa completes the former ski jumper's family happiness.
“Welcome to this world, little one. I am so proud of my girls, overwhelmed with emotion and grateful for everything. We can’t wait to meet you, Rosa,” Huber wrote on Instagram. After his first daughter was born in 2023, Huber can now call himself a father of two.
