Summer still has Europe firmly in its grip. Even at the beginning of September, winter sports are hardly to be thought of. However, the athletes have long since started preparing for the upcoming World Cup seasons.

Next weekend, Italy's ski jumpers will begin a tour of Poland and Austria. First, Alex Insam & Co. will go to Szczyrk in Silesia, before a Summer Grand Prix will take place in Wisla (POL) from September 12th to 15th. After that, the Azzurri will travel on to Brunn am Gebirge, where they will continue training in the suburbs of Vienna. It is still high summer around Vienna. It is currently 35 degrees in eastern Austria - winter sports enthusiasts are in danger of being in a sweltering furnace.
The Malsiner sisters Jessica and Lara have it better. They fly with the women's national team to Norway, where they train in Trondheim. It's a pleasant 20 degrees there.
Paris & Co. already arrived in winter
South Tyrol's ski aces have already arrived in the depths of winter. Dominik Paris has been training in Ushuaia (ARG) for a good week. Because it is currently winter in the southern hemisphere, the conditions there are perfect for ski training. Vicky Bernardi, Nadia Delago, Sara Thaler and Nicol Delago from Val Gardena will also be heading to South America soon. They will be docking in Ushuaia for a month starting Friday. Christof Innerhofer, Florian Schieder and the Speed Team are currently in La Parva in Chile. The men's European Cup speed group (with Max Perathoner and Maximilian Ranzi) can only dream of this. They train in Wittenburg (GER) in a closed hall that is almost affectionately called the "refrigerator". The European Cup technology group, on the other hand, also flies to Ushuaia.
Tobogganing aces on plastic tracks
The ski crossers around Dominik Zuech and Yanick Gunsch are also ready to leave for Argentina. Under the wing of coach Sigmar Klotz, they will train on snow in Chapelco from September 4th to 30th. The Italian slopestylers, meanwhile, are having fun in Banger Park in Scharnitz (North Tyrol). There are plastic jumps and air-filled landing mats on which the freestylers find ideal training conditions. The South Tyrolean tobogganing pros are also not seeing any snow. Instead, Dominik Fischnaller & Co. are training on a synthetic track in Brixen.
