Buchholz Broomballers cheer at the start of the semi-finals

For the third year in a row, the semi-finals of the national broomball championship are Pochi'89 against BC Neumarkt.

Neumarkt was able to hold its own twice, but this year Pochi is doing everything he can to break the series.

In front of an impressive crowd in the WürthArena, it was Neumarkt that set the tone in the first 10 minutes of the game. Several good chances remain unused and finally the Buchholzers are also in the game, who are now fighting their way forward more and more often. The Neumarkters are making more and more mistakes, but Pochi doesn't know how to implement them and so the first half ends 0-0. In the second half, the Buchholzers are initially in control, but as in the first half, they cannot circle the ball past Radakovich. Neumarkt is slowly waking up again and the game is becoming noticeably more exciting. At times Neumarkt defended with three against five yellow-blacks and towards the end even had the chance to take the lead through Pallabazzer, who narrowly missed the ball. So it goes into extra time and it's 3 against 3. Neumarkt rarely gives the ball away and fights for some good shooting positions, but all of them are blocked. After a fatal substitution mistake by the defending champion, two “Pocheri” counterattack and are now only facing one man. Miozzo keeps his nerve and scores the decisive 1-0.

The second leg will take place in the WürthArena on Sunday. if Neumarkt will certainly do everything in its power to force a third game.
