They come from the disciplines of alpine skiing, snowboarding, freestyle skiing, and biathlon. Five ski racers have been promoted from the regional squad to the national team. Jonas Feichter from Taisten (ASC Gsiesertal), Noah Gamper from Marling (Ski Club Tscherms), Max Clara from Enneberg (Ski Team Kronplatz), and Nora Damian from Tiers (Seiser Alm Skiteam) have all been selected for the Italian C-team after strong results last season. David Castlunger has also made it onto the national team, having been accepted into the police sports group.
Tobias Mutschlechner, however, has made it into the national snowboard B team. He also spent last season in the South Tyrol regional squad and can now work his way up to the next level. Mutschlechner comes from St. Vigil in Enneberg and is also registered with ASV St. Vigil. Two South Tyroleans are new additions to the freestyle skiing B squad. Elia Baez Locher from Bolzano (Ritten Sport) and Alex Putzer from Selva di Val Gardena (SC Gardena) will represent their home region on the international stage next season.
Three South Tyrolean biathletes also made the cut.
Last but not least, three South Tyrolean World Championship heroes have also moved up a level in the junior ranks. These are the gold medal trio of Andreas Braunhofer (Ridnaun), Jonas Tscholl (Laas), and Julian Huber (Antholz). They won the three-man relay at the recent Junior World Championships in Arber, Germany. Now comes the next step: The three biathletes, all already members of the Carabinieri sports group, will now be part of the Italian national junior team. There they will meet a teammate, Simone Motta. The former ASV Martell biathlete, now eligible to compete for the Financial Guard's sports group, has also moved up a level. Jan Steinkasserer (Antholz) will now be part of the squad of athletes of national interest.
