Domme Paris and the luge athletes in the south

Receiving a promotion thanks to sporting achievements is a tradition in the Carabinieri's sports unit. Because the 2026 Winter Olympics ended with medals for many South Tyrolean athletes, they were recently awarded a higher rank. This time, however, the ceremony didn't take place in Rome, but far to the south, in Reggio Calabria.

It was a long journey that ski star Dominik Paris, biathlete Lukas Hofer, and luge athletes Dominik Fischnaller, Emanuel Rieder, and Simon Kainzwaldner had to undertake. They boarded a plane in Bolzano and flew to Lamezia, from where they traveled another 133 km south to Reggio Calabria.
