After snow chaos: Chinese woman rejoices in Livigno

The medal decision in the Olympic aerials final in skiing took place on Wednesday, a day late. The Chinese team was the most jubilant.

The women's aerials final was originally scheduled for Tuesday, but heavy snowfall first delayed the competition and then postponed it to Wednesday. A day late, so to speak, but China's Mengtao Xu – as she had in Beijing in 2022 – claimed the Olympic title with 112,9 points. Australia's Danielle Scott (102,17 points) and China's Qi Shao (101,9) completed the podium.

German freestyle skier Emma Weiß made it to the final, but had to settle for twelfth – and therefore last – place. The 26-year-old scored 75,28 points in her best of two runs in Livigno.
