Olympics 2026 | What Friday brings

The penultimate day of the Olympics is packed with action: medals will be awarded in several disciplines on Thursday – from biathlon and ski cross to speed skating and short track. In ice hockey, in particular, the potential dream final between Canada and the USA is drawing ever closer.

The men will start for the last time in the biathlon competitions at 2:15 pm. Lukas hofer He qualified for this final race with his World Cup points this season and can once again compete for medals. Tommaso Giacomel and Nicola Romanin will also participate in the mass start alongside him, while... Patrick Braunhofer He only made it onto the reserve list. Another Olympic appearance for him is unlikely.


A little later, the ice hockey tournament will indirectly determine the medals. Only four teams remain in the Olympic competition. Will there be a dream final between Canada and the USA? The Canadians kick things off in their semifinal against Finland at 4:40 p.m., followed by the USA against Slovakia at 9:10 p.m.

Medals are also up for grabs in the women's ski cross (12:00 PM) and the women's 1.500-meter speed skating (4:30 PM). Two short track finals are on the program: first, the men will compete for a medal in the relay (9:18 PM), followed by the women's 1.500-meter race (10:00 PM).
