Strong South Tyrolean results in winter sports youth
For South Tyrol's winter sports athletes, the 2024/25 season is in full swing. This was also the case last weekend, when local athletes achieved strong results in snowboarding, cross-country skiing and freeskiing.

Two European Cups for alpine snowboarders took place at the weekend in Götschen in the German district of Berchtesgadener Land. South Tyrolean national team athlete Philipp Mutschlechner made a name for herself with two quarter-final appearances. On Saturday, December 14, the Enneberger came eighth in the victory of Austrian Werner Pietsch, and the following day he took an excellent fifth place in the victory of South Tyrolean Tommy Rabanser - a member of the Carabinieri sports group. The best result for the women from South Tyrol's perspective was achieved by Anna Mammone, who took 17th place once.
At the same time, a stage of the Coppa Italia for cross-country skiers took place in Schlinig in the Vinschgau. On Saturday, the 3,3-kilometer prologue in the classic style was on the program. In the women's U18, Marta Bellotti came third, and the next day she won the U18 skating pursuit. In the women's U20, there were three South Tyrolean victories: Marie Schwitzer won both the prologue and the pursuit, Romina Bachmann came second in the prologue and third in the pursuit, and Marit Folie came third in the prologue and second in the pursuit. A South Tyrolean also made an impact in the men's U18: Luca Pietroboni came second in both the prologue and the pursuit.
Strong South Tyrolean freeskiers in the Coppa Italia
The Coppa Italia also stopped in Livigno at the weekend, but this time in freeski. And once again the South Tyrolean national squad athletes showed off: In the women's "Allievi/Junior F" category, Heidi Pescollderungg from the South Tyrolean national squad came second, and in the men's category her team mate Max Von Aufschneiter even won the "Allievi" race. And in the "Junior" category, Elia Baez Locher took a good fifth place.The South Tyroleans who are not in the national squad also achieved good placings. In the “Ragazzi” category, there were three South Tyrolean podium finishes, with Peter Von Aufschneiter winning ahead of Colin Vinatzer and Dominik Kofler. In the “Allievi” category, Alex Putzer and Jakob Aichner took second and third place, and Jonas Gasslitter came third in the “Junior” category.
