The 2024/25 ski season continued last week with further top-class races in which the South Tyrolean youngsters were once again able to achieve remarkable results.

In an FIS Super-G on Tuesday in Cortina, which was also counted as the Italian championship in the Giovani category, Alex Silbernagl (Seiser Alm) took fourth place as the best South Tyrolean, narrowly missing the podium. 24 hours later, another FIS Super-G took place in the 1956 Olympic venue, which counts towards the Gran Premio Italia ranking. Here, Tommy Lochmann (SC Vigiljoch) took second place in the U21 age group. In the U18 category, Noah Gamper (Ski Club Tscherms) won at national level with the second fastest time in his age group, while Luis Schuster (Ski Team Kronplatz) took third place in Italy.
The young women competed in two Super-Gs at Watles. A national team athlete achieved great success, as Ivy Schölzhorn from RG Wipptal won the first race. In the second Super-G, she took fifth place overall, won the U18 and took second place in the U21. Arianna Putzer (SC Gröden), a second local racer, took third place in the U18 category.
Two giant slalom races of the national junior series also took place on the Sorega slope in St. Vigil at the weekend. While the local racers came away empty-handed in the first race, local hero David Castlunger (Ski Team Alta Badia) won the U18 ranking the following day. His club colleague Alberto Davare took third place.
Raiffeisen Grand Prix: Molling and Prantl shine in the Super-G
The Raiffeisen Grand Prix continued at the national level over the weekend. A Super-G was held on Saturday on the Lorenzi piste (Kronplatz). 14 young racers from all over South Tyrol took part in the U168 age group. Mia Molling (TZ Jochtal) achieved the best time for the young women in 1.10,05:1.09,32 minutes, while Samuel Prantl (Ulten) completed the course fastest in the boys' category in 14:XNUMX minutes. Around 200 children born in 2013 and 2014 took part in the Pfiff Toys Children's Cup in Ulten on Sunday. The competition, organized by the Tscherms Ski Club, was about winning the day in ski style. The local youngsters get a taste of the World Cup in Kitzbühel
A South Tyrol selection in the U16 age group consisting of Nicole Piccolruaz (Gröden), Elisa Plunger (Alpe di Siusi), Alenah Taschler (Gsiesertal), Matthias Mahlknecht (Gröden), Jeremias Scherer (Alpe di Siusi) and Noah Gasteiger (Gsiesertal) took part in the Longines Future Hahnenkamm Champions 2025 in Kitzbühel last week. After the two slalom runs on the Ganslern slope, the team finished eighth out of ten participating teams. The victory went to Tyrol. Alenah Taschler came third in the individual ranking, and Noah Gasteiger was the best local participant in the boys' category, coming eighth.
