CROSS-COUNTRY SKIING: Jonna Sundling won the women's sprint in Oberhof. The Swede prevailed in the final against Coletta Rydzek (GER) and Maja Dahlqvist (SWE). Italian Iris De Martin Pinter also reached the final and finished sixth. In the men's race, Federico Pellegrino made it onto the podium. The Italian was only beaten by Norwegian Lars Heggen. Even Northug (NOR) completed the podium in third place. Michael Hellweger from Sarnen was eliminated in the quarterfinals and finished 28th.

FREESTYLE: Maria Gasslitter from St. Ulrich in Gröden reached the slopestyle final for the second time in her young career at a World Cup weekend on Saturday. The 19-year-old finished ninth overall in Laax, Switzerland. She scored 46,63 points in the first run and improved to 47,41 in the second. Two-time Olympic champion Ailing Eileen Gu took the victory with 85,13 points.

BOB: Bobsled pilot Patrick Baumgartner had no luck at the two-man bobsled World Cup race in Altenberg. The Puster Valley native, who this time started not with his usual partner Robert Mircea but with José Delmas Obou, finished no higher than eleventh. The Italians were 1,69 seconds behind the winning German duo Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer. Second place went to Adam Ammour and Benedikt Hertel (+0,45 seconds), while Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schüller completed a German sweep of the podium in third place (+0,51 seconds).

NORDIC COMBINATION: Norwegian Jens Luraas Oftebro won the World Cup sprint triathlon. He finished 1,7 seconds ahead of Johannes Lamparter from North Tyrol. Jens Luraas's brother, Einar Luraas Oftebro, came in third (+1,9). Aaron Kostner (St. Ulrich) was the best Italian finisher, coming in 18th (+1:04.8), his best individual World Cup result since January 2023. Samuel Costa (Wolkenstein) finished 22nd (+1:14.1). In the women's World Cup in Oberhof, Norwegian Ida Marie Hagen took the victory. She won the sprint triathlon ahead of Germany's Nathalie Armbruster (+7,7) and Finland's Minja Korhonen (+14,6). Daniela Dejori finished 20th (+1:40.8).

SKI JUMPING: At the men's World Cup in Sapporo, Japan, Slovenia's Domen Prevc prevailed with jumps of 132 and 141 meters, ahead of Japan's Naoki Nakamura and Ren Nikaido. Alex Insam from Val Gardena landed in 43rd place with a jump of 119 meters. Meanwhile, the women competed in Zhangjiakou, China. Domen Prevc's sister, Nika, took first place, ahead of Norway's Anna Odine Stroem and Japan's Nozomi Maruyama. Annika Sieff from Val di Fiemme finished in 18th place; no athletes from South Tyrol participated.
