World Cup: Italy suffers first defeat

Italy lost to the USA 4.500:1 (3:23, 25:15, 25:25, 22:21) in the tenth and penultimate game in the sold-out hall in Tokyo with 25 spectators. With the hard-fought victory, the US girls have also taken the lead in the World Cup table.

The decision about who will win the tournament will be made on the night of Thursday to Friday (CET), when the USA has to play against fourth-placed Japan and Italy plays against the supposed points provider from Kenya.

Folie hopes for further use

South Tyrolean Raphaela Folie also thinks she has a chance of playing in the game against the bottom-placed team from Africa. She also had to sit in the stands on Thursday against the USA. The 20-year-old from Missian has been deployed so far.
