Paris Cup: 17 individual medals for the Merano team

The SC Meran swimmers won an impressive 17 individual medals (5 gold, 8 silver and 4 bronze) at the weekend in the first phase of the Paris Cup in Bozen (Pfarrhof).

The SCM won 17 individual medals (5 gold, 8 silver, 4 bronze), as well as 3 medals in the 4x100 freestyle relay (gold and silver for women and silver for men). Despite significant absences due to illness, the team completed this intensive event with excellent results. Each of the young swimmers took part in 6 individual disciplines to train for the challenges ahead.

The dominance on the 400 freestyle course was outstanding - this is where the quality of the training work was shown, as this course thrives on both endurance and speed. In the women's race, there were no less than five athletes in the top eight places, with Anna Sorrenti, Samantha Ortler and Hannah Spitaler taking up the entire podium. Anna Lex came fourth and Anna Pircher seventh. Florian Lex was also able to achieve first place among the men.

On Tuesday, SCM swimmer Viviane Graif travels to the Italian Championships in Riccione. The last competition of this first part of the season before the holidays will be the regional Brama Cup - this is a national team competition in which the team aims to establish itself as one of the strongest clubs in the province and region.
