After the separation from Lecce: Baroni moves to the north

He once took charge of FC Südtirol. Marco Baroni is now a seasoned first division coach. From next season he will be taking over at a real traditional club.

From May 2005 to June 2006, Marco Baroni was on the sidelines at FC Südtirol in Serie C2. After that, things went steadily uphill for the football coach from Florence. Series C with Ancona and Cremonese, Series B with Reggina, Pescara or Benevento. In Serie A, Baroni has so far looked after Frosinone (2018/19) and Lecce last season. From autumn onwards a new chapter will be added, as the now 59-year-old will be returning to old times in Verona.

Hellas Verona only managed to stay in the league in Serie A in the decider against Spezia in June. There shouldn't be such a tough game again for the traditional club. Baroni, on the other hand, played a solid first division season with Lecce after being promoted from Serie B with the Puglians last year. The coach then did not want to extend his contract with the southern Italians. For Baroni it is a return to Verona, as he already worked as an assistant coach (under Alberto Malesani) for the yellow-blue team in 2002/03.
