For the first time a complete women's referee team in Italy

On Sunday there will be something new in Italian football in the Serie A game between Inter and Torino.

The Italian Referees Association announced on Thursday that the game between Inter and FC Torino on Sunday in the Italian Serie A football league will be led by a team of referees made up entirely of women for the first time. Referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi is assisted by Francesca Di Monte and Tiziana Trasciatti. Caputi was the first woman to referee a Serie A game in 2022. This season she has made six appearances in the top division.

Inter played against their city rivals last weekend Milan (2:1) won their 20th Serie A title and now gets the second star on his chest. Competitor Torino theoretically still has a chance of being allowed to play in Europe next season, but they have to hope for mistakes from Atalanta, Roma and Lazio. With a win against the Nerazzurri they would at least put themselves in position.
