Club championship: 15th title for Athletic Club 96 Bozen

With this result, President Bruno Telchini's team can expect a top place at the Italian Championships this year too. Last year, the people of Bolzano came eighth, and two years ago they even came sensationally fourth, and this year they have already taken part in the “Oro” final of the twelve best clubs in Italy in Modena.

The Bolzano athletes won 11 of the 20 competitions held. Abdessalam Machmach and Brayan Lopez even celebrated a triple success if you count the 4x400 m relay. The sprinter Lopez was particularly impressive in the Bolzano ranks. The 19-year-old from Piedmont improved his personal best time over 400m by almost three tenths and increased it to 47.09 seconds. In Bolzano, some South Tyroleans also made people sit up and take notice, such as high jumper Alberto Masera (1.90 m) and 100 m sprinter Kevin Giacomelli (11.18). Javelin thrower Andreas Zagler came second with a strong 65,82 m, Hubert Göller third (58.53). Leonardo Dei Tos won the 10km walk in a very good 40:06.73 minutes and was almost seven minutes ahead of second-placed Aldo Andrei at the finish. The walker from Athletic Club 96 Bozen improved his own record, which he set just two weeks ago in Bovisio Masciago, by an impressive 15 seconds.

The 400 m hurdles sprinter Caren Agreiter shone among the women. The athlete from SSV Bruneck won in a strong 59.17 seconds. Agreiter also shone in the 4x400m relay. Together with Sophie Miribung, Katharina Oberhauser and Lisa Mayr they won in 3:50.95 minutes.
