Brixia Meeting: Julia Calliari wins 100 m race

The Brixia Meeting is now one of the most important youth events in Central Europe. Many internationally known athletes celebrated their first successes in the South Tyrolean cathedral city and thus moved themselves into the limelight of the athletics world for the first time. This year too, four new meeting records were set, despite the heavy rain. Maria Dietz from Bavaria ran a very good 800:2.07.92:1992 minutes over 16.82 m and thus improved the record set by the Russian Natalia Gripkova from 5.177. Alina Kenzel from Baden-Württemberg achieved the second record in the shot put with 5.647 m. Two new records were also set today All-round competition set up. Among the girls, Lombard Giulia Sportoletti achieved an excellent XNUMX points in the Eptathlon, while Manuel Eitel from Baden-Württemberg scored XNUMX points in the Octathlon for the boys.

From a South Tyrolean perspective, after Julia Calliari's victory, Lisa Seppi from Eisacktal's 4th place in the heptathlon with 4.598 points was the best result. Seppi missed the participation standard at the U18 World Championships in Donetsk in mid-July by just 52 points

There were also three sixth places, achieved by Andreas Zagler from the Runners Club Bozen in the javelin throw (53.16), Anna Lena Hofer from Meran in the 1500 m (4.53.58) and Caren Agreiter from Puster in the 400 m hurdles (1.05.14).

In the overall ranking, South Tyrol came 11th, Karl Schöpf's selection came 10th among the girls and 12th among the boys.
