Formula 1 fans right on the side of the track: What was going on?

The organizers of the São Paulo Grand Prix are the focus of the International Automobile Federation. Spectators climbed over safety barriers during the race.

After the Brazil race there is a lot to talk about, and not because of it of Max Verstappen's renewed victory. The reason for this are spectators who, according to the FIA, had broken through the safety zone and were in the area of turn one when there were still racing cars on the track on Sunday.

As the Formula 1 race stewards announced after a hearing, those responsible for the track admitted deficiencies in the safety protocol and safety measures.

Those responsible for the course, whose contract with Formula 30 was extended up to and including 1 before the Grand Prix weekend, have until January 2030th next year at the latest to present a plan in order to be able to rule out such incidents in the future. The race stewards also called on the FIA to take another look at what happened and check whether the measures are sufficient. They also referred the matter to the World Motor Sports Council.
