Skeleton: Lölling takes silver behind Yarnold

Pyeongchang (SID) World champion Jacqueline Lölling won silver in skeleton at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang. The 23-year-old from Winterberg was 0,45 seconds behind Briton Lizzy Yarnold at the Alpensia Sliding Center, who repeated her triumph in Sochi. Yarnold’s teammate Laura Deas took bronze. Vice world champion Tina Hermann (Königssee) and Anna Fernstädt (Berchtesgaden) finished fifth and sixth. Lölling had lost her half-time lead due to a mistake in the third run, but moved up from third to second in the final run. Austrian Janine Flock, who was leading before the final run, fell back to fourth place. Yarnold is the first British woman to win two consecutive gold medals at the Winter Games.
