Berrettini completely stunned: “This is killing me”

One man's joy is another man's sorrow. The drama at the ATP Finals in Turin couldn't be described more appropriately. Matteo Berrettini's bitterest hours of his career could become a great springboard for Jannik Sinner.

With tears in his eyes, Berrettini signaled his surrender in the duel with Alexander Zverev on Sunday. It wasn't the pain of his abdominal muscle injury that drove him into this emotional situation, but rather the fact of having to raise the white flag in front of his home crowd at the big highlight of the season. At that moment, the 25-year-old Roman's world collapsed.
