Brady is resigning – or is he?

For almost two hours over the weekend, the NFL said goodbye to the best player in football history: Tom Brady. Then, among other things, the US news agency AP reported that the 44-year-old quarterback had not yet made his decision to retire despite a report from ESPN to the contrary and had told the manager of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers this in a phone call.

What is true? Only Brady himself knows. His agent Don Yee also emphasized this. "Without going into the accuracy or inaccuracy of the reports, Tom will be the only one to express his plans with absolute accuracy," it said in a statement. Brady's father, Tom Sr., even called the retirement reports a "total guess," as he told the NFL Network. “Tommy has not yet made a final decision one way or the other and anyone who says otherwise is absolutely wrong.” Even the company's own company congratulated him Fellow players like Chris Godwin, the NFL itself and even his company, TB12sports, had just recently congratulated Brady via Twitter on a career that is second to none and, for many, has made Brady one of the best athletes on the planet. Later it read: "If this is really the end for Brady..." TB12sports also initially tweeted: "7 Super Bowl rings. 5 Super Bowl MVPs. 3 league MVP awards. 22 incredible seasons.
