NFL plans without bubble: “Not the safest approach”

However, an extension of the regular season cannot be ruled out. “Flexibility will be crucial,” emphasized league boss Roger Goodell at a media round with journalists on Tuesday (local time) and warned the clubs: “We cannot become complacent, not the players, not the coaches, not the rest of our staff.” In the previous weeks, corona cases and the resulting game postponements turned the NFL's planning upside down. Before the fifth matchday last weekend, the league had postponed three games and some teams' training facilities had to be closed. For example, the Tennessee Titans, who had 24 corona cases among players and employees, had to train outside their facilities. On Wednesday night they got back into the action for the first time after a break of more than two weeks and inflicted their first defeat of the current season on the Buffalo Bills at 42:16. This means the Titans remain one of four teams undefeated.
