Successful title defense: SSV Bozen are champions

SSV Bozen is the Italian team champion in badminton for the second time in a row: In the playoff in Maracalagonis (Cagliari), the Talferstadt team first beat ASV Mals and then against hosts Marabadminton.

The team led by homegrown players Yasmine Hamza and Katharina Fink won the third championship title in the club's history. Bozen already took first place after the regular season, and now they have crowned their strong season with the title.

In the final, Yasmine Hamza and Iben Bergstein (both SSV Bozen) opened the series and lost in the women's doubles in three sets to the hosts' pairing, Margareta Malena Norrman Thiwaportn/Wen Yu Zhang, 21:9, 18:21, 12:21. Immediately afterwards it was the turn of the men's doubles, where the pair of SSV Bozen, consisting of David Salutt and Daniel Nikolov, defeated the Sardinian pair of Matteo Massetti and Christopher Vittoriani in two sets: 21:18, 21:13. The score was 1-1 in the final.

The next match was the women's singles, which pitted Italian champion Hamza against Canadian Wen Yu Zhang. Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the woman from Bolzano given the level of the Canadian (top 50 in the world rankings). The game was lost in two sets: 9:21, 10:21. Immediately afterwards, the Bulgarian Daniel Nikolov had a difficult time against the Dane Chrisopher Vittoriani, but was still able to stop the Cagliari team's winning streak. Nikolov won with
22:20 and 21:8, making it 2:2.

After more than 3 hours of a hard-fought final, the mixed doubles had to decide. The Bolzano team with David Salutt and
Bergstein managed to hold on against Massetti and Thiwaporn 21:17, 21:14. The third title in the club's history was in store.
