Mals is vice-champion of Italy

The semi-final games on Saturday were: ASV Mals against GSA Chiari and BC Milan against Fiamme Oro. Milan didn't lose a game and confidently reached the final with a 3-0 win.

The Malsers, on the other hand, had to fight for a place in the final. Lisa Sagmeister and Judith Mair lost the first game (women's doubles) against Iversen/Passeri with 20:22 and 15:21. In the men's doubles, Lukas Osele and Kevin Strobl equalized with a three-set win against Baroni/Fredholm with 21:15 19:21 21:11 and the score was 1:1. The singles games followed and Judith Mair was able to win the women's singles against Passeri with 21:15 and 21:10. Mals made it 2:1. In the men's singles, Julien Carraggi won against Baroni with 21:17 and 21:14, and ASV Mals reached the final with 3:1.

Like final 2018 On Sunday, Mals played the final again against the defending champions BC Milan, last year - Mals went down 0-3. The opening game was again the women's doubles with Sagmeister/Mair against Pirvanescu/Sonoda. The Malser women won the game 21:16 21:15. Unfortunately, the Vinschgers lost the men's doubles with Osele/Strobl and the score was 1:1. The next game was the women's singles, which Mair won against the Japanese Sonoda 21:15 21:19. In the men's singles, Julien Carraggi lost to Caponio 19:21 18:21. The score was 2:2 and so the last game – the mixed doubles – had to decide.

It was great and exciting for the spectators that the last game had to decide. Unfortunately Kevin Stobl/Silvia Garino had to give up the game in two sets 21:23 17:21 against Wisnu/Corsini. The final was lost 3-2 - Mals became Italian runner-up again, like last year. BC Milan became champions again and their players from Japan, Indonesia, Romania and Italy won the title for the sixth time.

Mals is vice-champion of Italy

Last weekend the Italian team championship title was played in Milan. Four teams qualified for the play-offs: BC Milan, GSA Chiari, Fiamme Oro and ASV Mals. The game was played in “best-of-five” mode.
