South Tyrol's top league basketball players have playoff fever

SSV Brixen Basket scored 32 points (16 wins, 4 defeats) and had the best defense in the league (only 47,2 points allowed). This was enough for second place behind Lavis. Meran made it into the knockout round as 4th in the silver group.

In the round of 20, Brixen will face Gardolo U7, a team made up of the best youth players from the Serie D club “Gardolo Basket”. Gardolo finished the gold group in XNUMXth place. The coach of Brixen, Alessandro Peroni, warns about the opponent: “Gardolo is a strong opponent who we will certainly not underestimate. But based on our performances so far this season, I am full of confidence that we can reach the next round.”

Maia Meran, on the other hand, will face Virtus Altogarda Junior. Altogarda took third place in the gold group. Olympia BK Bozen is expected to meet “Night Owls Trento” and Piani Junior will face “Junior Rovereto”. Both teams spent the season in the gold group of the Oberliga.

In the round of 16 and quarter-finals, the worse team will play the first leg at home and the second leg away. The duels in the non-basketball mode are decided based on basket ratio. In the semi-finals and finals, however, there will only be one game; the better-placed team also has the home advantage. To achieve promotion to the gold group, advancing to the round of 16 is enough. The winner of the entire playoffs, however, has the opportunity to be promoted to Serie D, the highest regional league.

The playoffs for Brixen will be on April 26.04th. at 20:30 p.m. with one The home game for the team from the cathedral city begins. The second leg will take place on May 03.05rd. at 21:30 p.m. in Gardolo. The exact dates for the other teams have not yet been set.
